Management Team
The company, formed in 1993, has grown steadily employing more than 30 people worldwide today. The
strength of the organisation lies in its people, most of whom joined CardBASE following successful
careers within the financial services sector, and as a result bring a wealth of experience to all
areas within the organisation.The Management Team of CardBASE is led by:
Pierre Heuzé, Technical Director
Pierre has global responsibility for product development & customer services. Pierre joined
CardBASE in 2000 as a Technical Architect and drove the strategic technical direction and
architectural vision of the company. Prior to joining CardBASE, Pierre held positions such as Project
Manager and Consultant with Esso, Siemens and other technology companies across Europe. During this
time he has worked on various projects to deliver innovative quality solutions in areas such as smart
cards, information security, manufacturing and resource optimisation.
Pierre holds a Master's Degree in Mathematics and an Engineering Degree from the École des Mines
Nancy (France).
Don Stapleton, Sales & Marketing Director Since graduating in 1992 Don has worked in the
software industry in roles spanning the full lifecycle of software development gaining experience
across a range of industries including insurance, banking, logistics and the public sector. Don joined
CardBASE in 2000 working initially as Customer Project Manager, then moving into frontline sales and
marketing as head of Partners & Alliances.
Don is now responsible for business development across Europe and North America focusing on building
relationships with regional system integrators and channel partners for sales into Corporate, Health
and Government sectors. Don holds an honours degree in computing and has recently completed a diploma
in Financial Management.
